General information-
BPM High School, Khar (estd on 30-5-1941) is recognized by the Education Department, Government of Maharashtra. This School is conducted by Mumbai Suburban Education Society, Khar. The School has introduced English Medium from June 1966.
Special attention is paid to extra-curricular activities as they play an important role in child's education. Students are encouraged to participate in various activities, organized by inter school associations and social organization. Excursions and education tours are organized from time to time.
The students are also encouraged to make use of the library and reading room in order to develop the self-study habit. The School, has perfect system, Social Service, parents are requested to advise their wards to participate in all the activities.
The School runs a Registered Students Co-operative Stores with an objective of making notebooks, and stationary available at reasonable price to the students. Students are informed to buy notebooks, etc. from Students' Co-op Stores only.
The school works in 2 shifts, the first shift from 7.05am to 12.30pm (5th-7th std) and the 2nd shift from 12.40pm to 5.40pm. (8th-10th std). Students may be detained after school hours for different activities, if required.

Students studying in BPM High School are mostly from Khar Danda and Gazdar Bandh; others come from Santacruz, Khar( W & E), Bandra, etc.
Ganpati festival- Ganpati festival is also celebrated in this school for 5 days,
Lord Ganesha is brought in the school one day prior to the festival by the school students and teachers amidst presence of the whole school and students throwing gulaal and dancing to the beats of dhol. The 5 days of Ganpati festival are celebrated with great energy and devotion by the students. Ganpati visarjan takes place on the 5th day at Juhu beach by school staff and few students.
Sports- BPM High School has a very big playground which is one of its kind as many schools in the vicinity don’t have a ground, so, their sports are held in BPM High School.
BPM High School has two volleyball/throwball courts which are always occupied with boys practicing their skills.
Students of this institution are very energetic and enthusiastic.
Sports week is the most awaited event of the school. It is held in December just before the Christmas vacations.
Sports like langadi (for 5th, 6th, 7th std), kabaddi (for 7th, 8th,9th,10th std), throwball ( for 9th & 10th std girls) and volleyball ( for 9th & 10th boys) are played with the volleyball final of 10th std being the most awaited and most tough match of the year.
Picnic- School takes a one day trip for STD 5th to 9th students usually in the month of December. 10th std trip is taken in the month of August so that students can prepare for their board exams in the month of December without any distraction. 5th-7th std picnic and 8th-9th std picnic are taken on separate days by morning and afternoon shift teachers respectively. The picnic is mostly taken to any water resort in or near Mumbai.
Farewell- The farewell for 10th std students is held in February which is attented by all the teaching and non-teaching staff of morning and afternoon shift. Most of the girls wear a saree and boys wear formal clothes. Here the students are given a chance to speak about this school where they have spent 6 yrs of their life and bid adieu. Even the Principal and few teachers give speech and motivate students to take correct path and become successful, thus, making the school proud.
